Who can I talk to about my loved one’s mental health?

Do you sometimes feel unsure how to help—or wish there was someone who understood what you’re going through?

Would you like to connect with other families who share similar experiences and can offer support and hope?

Our Family Support Groups offer culturally responsive groups, workshops, and resources that help caregivers strengthen their resilience, care for themselves, and build lasting support systems for recovery.

For many caregivers, the Family Support Groups are a safe space to share struggles and tears, manage fear and stress, and find friendship, strength, and hope.

Family often plays the most important role in supporting a loved one with mental health challenges. But caregivers don’t always have the resources or answers they need. That’s why we’re here—to support families as well as individuals, and to help build lasting support systems for recovery.

Our Beliefs:

  • Families are essential partners in a loved one’s recovery.
  • Caregivers need care, too, to best support their loved ones.
  • Families play a key role in building “mental health for all” in our community.

What We Offer:

As part of our Culturally Competent Recovery College, Family Support Groups provide activities and services to strengthen resilience for caregivers, including:

  • Consultation with family members
  • Educational workshops and resource development
  • Mutual support groups in different languages (Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin)
  • Self-care and coping strategies
  • Leadership training to build the capacity of caregivers
  • Opportunities to participate in anti-stigma events and advocacy activities
