This year, HF Care brought back our Holiday Hampers program for a second year, working alongside volunteers from PwC Canada’s Asia Inclusion Network, Johnson & Johnson, and long-time HF Care volunteers across the GTA. Together, we assembled and distributed over 500 hampers to clients and families.
Each hamper reflected time set aside by people who could have been elsewhere, but chose to be here instead.

At our PwC volunteer packing event, many of them spoke about why they wanted to be involved.
“It’s very hard to find organizations that truly serve multiple Asian communities in culturally meaningful ways, so finding an organization with a similar vision made working together feel natural.”
– Candace, Co-Chair of PwC Canada’s Asia Inclusion Network
Others reflected on how mental health work resonates with them personally, especially in Asian communities where stigma can make conversations difficult. Volunteers talked openly about the importance of showing that it is okay to talk about mental health at work and at home.
“We’re all busy, especially around the holidays, but taking a few hours to volunteer helps me stay connected to what matters, and to the community we’re part of.”
– Taylor, Member of PwC Canada’s Asia Executive Committee

At our North York location, our clients were welcomed by a handful of smiling volunteers. Many of them have been supporting HF Care for years. When asked why they continue to come back, one volunteer said the answer was simple:
“I want to show that everybody deserves to feel some love, especially during the holidays. Everybody matters.”
– Kam Lo, Volunteer and Past HF Care Foundation Chair

We are grateful to every volunteer, partner, and supporter who turned this year’s Holiday Hampers into a chance to grow the strength of the community while reaching hundreds of families with a package made with care.
If you’d like to take part in growing our community, consider supporting us through a gift, or by volunteering with us.
